J. WAYNE BYSTROM Biography
J. Wayne Bystrom is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where he earned the William Emlen Cresson Memorial Traveling Scholarship, the institutions highest honor. In addition, J. Wayne Bystrom is one of the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts most award winning graduates. He has exhibited in such eminent art institutions as the National Academy of Design, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Philadelphia Art Museum Gallery, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and is the permanent collection of the INA Maritime Museum. Bystrom has many sold-out limited edition prints, and his original oils have steadily increased in value. Over the last five years, he has contributed a great deal of time and artwork for worthwhile causes to benefit Philadelphia's homeless.
J.Wayne Bystrom continues to achieve critical acclaim for his figurative oil paintings. Successful exhibits in prominent galleries in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. have confirmed his growing reputation as one of America's leading realist painters.
