Nationally known artist J. Wayne Bystrom excels in the medium of oils as evidenced by a series of successful exhibitions in prominent art galleries located in Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C. and Wilmington. He has exhibited in such eminent art institutions as the National Academy of Design, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Philadelphia Art Museum Gallery, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the INA Maritime Museum.

The artist is a graduate of the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts where he was honored as one of their most award-winning students. His landscapes and portrait work claimed top honors. He also received their highest award of the William Emlem Cresson Memorial Traveling Scholarship which enabled him to study the art in Europe for three months.
