ANA MORAN

on to receive her Bachelor of Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where she studied from 1998 to 2003. Before persuing a career as a full-time artist, Moran worked as a conservation and restoration artist in Valencia. Currently her works are actively shown in galleries in Spain and the U.S.

Moran's populus paintings of dreamy coastlines filled with families and individuals participating in a multitude of different recreational activities highlight the connection between community, nature, culture, and art. Historically, Pop art provided an avenue for artists to explore and subvert traditional values and qualifications relating to fine art versus commercial art, public versus private, other relatable themes. Pop art explores the notion that "Art" exists everywhere, and everything is "Art." Moran's utilization of figures in her works aims to bridge the relationship between "Art" and everyday life where people come to form and elevate the messages of the earlier era. Moran's paintings are colorful and full of life. As the figures move through space, they highlight the joy in finding community, connection, and love. Moran's paintings are very much a celebration of life and the beauty that exists all around us in our contemporary environment and in nature.
