Dong Sul Kim was born August 15, 1959. His grandfather was an art professor at a local university, so, painting could be an inborn talent David Kim held within himself. ...Read more...While in middleschool, his art teacher noticed his talent in art and recommended further training. He then began experimenting with pastels and watercolors.
Kim went on to study art and graduated from Pusan Art High School. In 1983, Kim received a degree from the Dong A University of Art in Korea. In 1985 he became an Art instructor for the Art Institute in Korea, where he worked for three years.
In 1986 Kim exhibited in Seoul Gallery as a member as the Seoul International Artist Association. In 1987 he participated in and painted abroad in the Artisit Exchange Program for Korea, Japan and China.
In 1988 Kim travelled through Europe to further develope his sketches and paintings. In 1989 he settled in in Paris. In 1990 Kim participated in art exibitions, including exhibits at Avinon Gallery and the Vincent Van Gogh.
In 1991 he participated in "The Great Art Exhibition" for the Korean government.
