Elisabeth began painting with watercolors at a young age and became very serious about her art in high school. She spent high school weekends and summers studying at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.
Elisabeth L. Olver graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1994 where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. Elisabeth spent her college summers at the beach painting beach scenes including the beach patrol lifeguard stands and rowboats. A few years later, these popular Jersey Shore scenes would be reproductions.
Finding a niche, Elisabeth began exhibiting in galleries and shows, mostly along the Jersey coast. Her work has been selected to participate in many juried, gallery and invitational shows.
After the birth of her two daughters, who quickly developed a talent of their own and a desire to collaborate, Elisabeth needed a more forgiving medium that was also non-toxic. She started experimenting all over again with acrylic and has been enjoying the boldness and versatility ever since. Also, after many years of very detailed and realistic work, Elisabeth has expanded to include abstract work.
