A former elementary school teacher, Doris Zogas' serious interest in watercolor began in 1978 while attending a Howard Watson workshop. She was a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and a member of the Berks Art Alliance. She was involved in numerous juried, individual, and invitational shows.

Although she enjoyed landscape, seascape, and floral painting, Zogas is best known for paintings of nostalgic landmarks of the New Jersey seashore. She published an Avalon-Stone Harbor series of limited edition prints. These prints certainly evoke fond memories of the warm, relaxed, and friendly life in southern New Jersey communities.

She divided her time between her homes in Reading, Pennsylvania and Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Sadly, Doris Zogas passed away over the summer of 2016. Her love of the New Jersey shore will live on in her prints for many years to come.
