Stone Harbor, New Jersey July/August 2022: Josef Kote: The Collected Works is a magnificent Collection of artworks by new master Josef Kote. These works will be on exhibition and available for acquisition at Ocean Galleries, Stone Harbor’s premier Fine Art Gallery. Two special in-person Meet-the-Artist appearances are scheduled: Friday, August 5th 6-9pm, Saturday, August 6th from 6-9pm. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Josef Kote and experience his art: described as “symphonies of light and color”. Josef Kote: The Collected Works
In Kote’s sixth solo show with Ocean Galleries, some works stand out as the central characters. Such is the case of paintings like Light on Light, Fluidity and Rising Tide, which portray the immensity of the ocean, with the seaside being one of the artist’s go-to subjects over the years.
Josef’s atmospheric renderings of New Jersey’s coastline bring to mind the legacy of seminal landscape artists, such as J.M.W. Turner and later Winslow Homer that captured the experience of the Sublime in nature. However, in Kote’s case, the turbulence of the sea is infused with an ethereal light that conveys a feeling of calmness and triggers our senses. We can almost hear the waves as they crash on the shore, feel the cold water at the soles of our feet, or remember the last time we saw the sunset at the beach.

The Spark of an Icon: An Exhibition of the Concept Drawings of Dr. Seuss
OCEAN GALLERIES Stone Harbor’s premier fine art gallery, presents a compelling selection of artworks from The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection. The exhibition opens Saturday, June 11 and extends through Sunday, June 26, 2022 with two not to be missed gallery receptions Friday, June 17 from 6-9 pm and Saturday, June 18 from 6-9 pm. For over 60 years, Dr. Seuss’s illustrations have brought a visual realization to his fantastic and imaginary worlds. His artistic talent went far beyond the printed page and yet, to this day, his artistic talent is virtually unknown to the general public. Visitors may explore and acquire works from Dr. Seuss’s best-known children’s books, as well as a mind-expanding collection based on decades of artwork. Each of these Estate-Authorized limited editions has been adapted and reproduced from Theodor Seuss Geisel’s original drawings, paintings, or sculptures. Additionally, each work bears a posthumously printed or engraved Dr. Seuss signature, identifying the work as an authorized limited edition commissioned by the Dr. Seuss Estate.
