Aurelio Grisanty was born in the Dominican Republic.
As a child, he was naturally fascinated by all the colors and textures all around him.
As a teen, Grisanty studied drawing with ...Read more...Dominican Master, Yoryi Morel. He studied graphic arts and painting in Mexico City. He also studied interior design at University Pedro Henriquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
In the 70’s, Grisanty designed and directed the Graphic Arts Department at Autonoma University.
Also during this time, he designed theatrical sets and costumes for notable productions.
He also served as Director for the graphic design department of one of Dominican Republic’s premier advertising agencies, ‘Retho Publicidad.’
In the 80’s Grisanty moved to Washington, D.C. where he pursued a career as a painter and graphic artist.
In 2004, Grisanty moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware where he co-founded ‘Beach Town Posters’ (a series of fine art posters celebrating American beach towns, rendered in a vintage Art Deco style).
Aurelio Grisanty is now the sole artist for the ongoing series.
