JEFF KOEHN

Art Institute of Colorado, where he graduated with honors in December 1995. While there, he received extensive training in pastel, oil, and acrylic from masters like Doug Dawson, Lynn Kircher, and Dong Long. His talent was recognized early, culminating in him being awarded 1st Place in the National Creative 'Geanie' Student Competition in 1995.

Koehn's distinctive style has evolved from an early emphasis on photo-realism and pastel portraiture. As he transitioned to oil and acrylics, he became absorbed with the excitement of color and texture. His signature technique, which involves refining his paintings with dry brush methods, lends both complexity and subtlety to his work. Koehn draws influence from the mastery of light seen in Vermeer's paintings and the lush portraiture of John Singer Sargent.
