family relocated to Ft. Meyers, Florida when Steve was still in grade school. His love for the water began at an early age where he spent many days sailing into the sunset on his catamaran. His love of the water, reflection and brilliant colors are seen in all of his work.
In the early 80's, Steve relocated just outside Washington, D.C., where he produced images in his studio overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Often when painting on a cold winter's day Stephen will "step into" the painting and feel the sand on the beach, the aroma of the salty spray and for that moment, the bright sunshine will warm his soul.
He currently resides and works in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife, Martha and his daughters Danielle and Samantha where he produces art on metallic canvas and aluminum.
